Arrangements can be made to accommodate any friends or relatives who may wish to accompany you.
Some pupils are less responsive than others and therefore will need more time to assimilate driving skills; this is particularly true of those of mature years, as time takes its toll of reflexes and attitudes.
Other pupils have previous driving experience, including taking a Driving Test and so the Courses have to be tailored to suit every individual's requirements; hence the variety of courses ranging from 3 to 10 days to cater for all aptitudes and experience.
Due to such variations, you will have to decide which course is best for you, but we are pleased to advise.
The course, as the name suggests, consists of a mixture of town and country driving. The locality chosen gives ample provision for this, including motoring in some very beautiful countryside, and during breaks in instruction it is pleasant to relax in the enjoyment of Wye Valley views, the Cotswolds and other delightful areas. Town motoring is conducted in the major towns and especially where the driving test will take place. These all give experience of the various driving conditions which the driving test requires to be examined.
A few notes on questions that are frequently asked:-
Vehicles both manual and automatic are varied, ranging from Nissan Micra to Ford Fiesta and Honda Civic
All vehicles are dual controlled. If pupils have achieved the required standard they will take their driving tests in the cars they have used during instruction. During the course the pupil normally has the same instructor and car.
All instructors are approved and licenced by the Driving Standards Agency.
Only one pupil is in the car with the instructor at any time during tuition, we do not consider it beneficial for pupils to have responsibility for another passenger in the car.
The Course day normally starts at 9.00am and consists of four hours individual instruction split into two sessions – each of two hours duration.
A three day course will consist of any three days, depending on the date of the driving test appointment.
The five day course commences normally on Monday morning at 9.00 a.m., the pupil having arrived the previous afternoon, the driving test being booked for the Friday of that week. This is not essential, however.
The seven day course commences normally on Saturday morning at 9.00 a.m., the pupil having arrived the previous afternoon. Sometimes the driving test
appointment is not on a Friday in which case the Course starts seven days prior to that appointment.
Pupils are collected, by previous arrangement, from the nearest Railway/Coach Station to the Branch that they are attending for their Course, on the day prior to the commencement of the Course between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm. Pupils arriving at Cheltenham, Gloucester or Chepstow can take a taxi to the hotel if a later arrival is preferred – the distance from the station is very short.
If you have any further questions, or would like details explained more fully, please telephone 01594 543863 between 10.00am and 7.00pm on any day, Sundays to Fridays OR send an email to Enquiries@Ldrive.co.uk
